The paint industry is increasingly being required to employ more environmentally friendly substances. Epoxidized soya bean oil "vegetable-oil" products are well placed to meet these demands. Vegetable oils can, by blending and combination with epoxy resins, be adapted to individual uses. The addition of epoxy produces a significantly higher stabilization effect and a compatibility, exceeding the normal specifications, with nitrocellulose and other paint binding agents which break down acids.
